Legal Term of the Week (TM)

Laches -- 1. Unreasonable delay or negligence in pursuing a right or claim -- almost always an equitable one -- in a way that prejudices the party against whom relief is sought.  2. The equitable doctrine by which a court denies relief to a claimant who has unreasonably delayed or been negligent in asserting the claim, when that delay or negligence has prejudiced the party against whom relief is sought.

No Word Whether Lil' Jon Will Be The Curator

Lil_jon Apparently the Smithsonian Institution is putting together an exhibit on hip-hop and rap culture.  I for one say that it is about time.  No longer will rappers and hip-hop artists be considered sub-standard musicians.  Finally they will receive the credit they deserve for sampling anothers artist's creative work and adding it to a repetitive drum machine hook while laying down raunchy, near-obscene lyrics over it all.  That's art, yeeeaaahhhh!

MY FAVORITE THINGS

Crane3 Motions to Compel and Continuances

201(k) letters, how many chances?

Hearings and Trials and Court Clerks with ZING!

These are a few of my favorite things.....

Rule 137 sanctions make opposing counsel look stupid

Reconciliation possible?  Not even with Cupid...

My Motion to Strike smacks you with a loud PING!

These are a few of my favorite things......

Judges who wink and Experts who bumble

Counsel's closing argument was a long, ugly stumble

My cross-examination makes your witnesses sing!

These are a few of my favorite things...

When the Court's closed,

When the client whines,

When my paralegal's mad,

I simply remember my favorite things,

And then I don't feeeeeeeeeellllllllllll  soooooooooooo  baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddd!
